A Broadway producer’s daughter is savagely murdered in Hell’s Kitchen. Birdie Kelly, a former stage actress turned PI, discovers the killer—a psychotic NYC Transit cop who mistook the victim for his ex-girlfriend. His arrest is thwarted when a rogue detective recruits the transit cop to spy on an emerging, powerful Russian mob. Birdie counters, planting stolen evidence which backfires and her cornered prey turns the table, stalking her. An avenging Archangel intercedes, banishing the killer to a shadowy world, neither living nor dead, while also wiping out Birdie’s evidence, forcing the case into limbo and her to work for her former client’s production company.
